Fourth of July 2020 Sales: Where to Find Big Deals

Raging block parties and firework shows may be on ice in some cities this year, but nothing will dampen one American tradition come Fourth of July: scoring deep savings on holiday sales. As we sail into peak summer days, banner discounts on everything from furniture and appliances to clothes and beauty products are here for the taking.

Whether you’re looking to upgrade indoor decor or back-to-work outfits as businesses reopen, here are the standout savings from big-box retailers and niche brands to bookmark. Because when you can’t nosh on burgers and gulp beer with friends in the backyard, finding deals of up to 80% off may be the next best thing.

July 4 Tech Sales

Technology

Speaking of sprucing up your home, it's time to protect it, too. Kangaroo Home Security is offering 30% off plus free shipping with code HONEY30 from June 30 at 9 p.m. to July 10, 2020 at 9 p.m. PST. Considering the brand's starter kits start at $99, the cost of safety and peace of mind is now, well, a steal (sorry, we had to).

We can't talk about home technology without smart thermostats. Lucky for you, Google Nest 3rd Generation Learning Thermostats are on sale (now $199, originally $249) at Lowe's through July 5, 2020.

Apparel

Chico’s holiday sale (which runs July 2-4) is blink-and-you’ll-miss-it short, but boy is it sweet. The women’s clothing and accessories retailer will slash 50% off of every purchase. Savings stack even higher at Soma, when the intimates brand offers up to 80% off of underwear, swimwear, clothing, and dresses from July 2 through July 6. Also available from the intimates retailer are further discounts on already-reduced panties (five for $20) and already-reduced bras (which will be further marked down by 50%). White House Black Market will use the same sale dates (July 2-July 6) to discount full-price items by 40% and items already on sale by 50%, making this the perfect time to sock up on moto jackets and light sweaters for the fall.

Home Decor July 4 Sales

Home

We’ve never spent more time at home than we have in the past few months, which has us pining for a refresh on home decor and furniture. This Fourth of July, we’ve got our eye on a few upcoming sales from a few furniture sellers who rarely mark down their stock. ABC Carpet & Home will reduce prices of nearly everything in store and online by 30% from July 2-July 6 (excluding jewelry & artwork), and direct-to-consumer furniture brand Article has cut its already affordable prices on select items (including of-the-moment black rattan pieces) by up to 20%.

Living Spaces annual Fourth of July Event is back this year, with savings on hundreds of items across furniture categories. A few standouts: mattresses from TempurPedic, Sterns & Foster, and Revive available for up to $700 off; a sofa with reversible chaise and a queen chestnut panel bed, each marked down to $395. The best part? With the sale, which is online now, ongoing through at least the end of July, we have plenty of time to ponder our purchase.

Appliances

Home improvement stores are known for kicking down some of the best deals on big-ticket items come fourth of July. This year, not only do Lowe's and Home Depot live up to the hype, but they’re offering free delivery on many appliances, too. Lowe's two-week sale in honor of the Fourth is already underway, with appliances from brands including LG, Samsung, and GE discounted at up to 40% off. What’s more, the store is offering free delivery on washers, dryers, and other major appliances priced $299 or more. If social distancing finds you without a cookout to crash, it may be time to invest in your own grill: Snag Char-Broil Advantage 4-Burner Gas Grill and Char-Broil Performance 2-Burner and 5 Burner Gas Grills for $50 under retail at Lowe's.

Home Depot is also reducing prices on appliances by 40% through July 8, 2020 and adding a sweet bonus discount of up to $600 off when two or more appliances are purchased (in addition to free delivery offers).
